Bumdra Trek

Tour Overview

The Bumdra Trek, often called the Trek of the Thousand Dakinis (celestial female deities), is a short yet breathtaking two-day adventure with a single night of camping. This sacred trail is steeped in spiritual significance, leading you through fragrant pine forests and revealing sweeping views of Paro Valley. Along the way, you’ll also be treated to iconic glimpses of the world-renowned Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang).

Though there are three entry points, most travelers begin from Sang Chhoekhor Monastery in Paro, the most popular and recommended starting route. Once at Bumdra, trekkers can explore ancient holy sites, visit sky burial grounds believed to be sanctified by Guru Rinpoche, or simply immerse in the serene natural surroundings. For those seeking extra fun, traditional Bhutanese pastimes such as archery or dart (khuru) add cultural depth to the journey.
