Dagala Trek

Tour Overview

The Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek is a hidden gem in Bhutan’s Thimphu district, celebrated for its untouched alpine beauty. Starting from Genekha and finishing at Chamgang, this 50 km route crosses four mountain passes—one rising above 4,500 meters—making it an excellent introduction to high-altitude trekking.

Over four days, trekkers are rewarded with encounters at countless pristine lakes, each reflecting the surrounding peaks like a mirror. The journey offers sweeping views of the Himalayas, where giants such as Everest, Jomolhari, Masang Gang, Jichu Drake, and Gangche Ta dominate the skyline. A highlight of the trek is a day dedicated to exploring, fishing, or simply relaxing beside these sparkling alpine lakes.
